God is SO good.

ccf worship team needs a new keyboard.

we’ve been making due with borrowing keyboards from friends, friends of friends. but without actually owning one of our own, the keyboards would never stay for a long time.

during the worship meeting today it was brought up that we need a lot of new equipment. and on the top of that list was a keyboard. we were chatting and we said that a new, NICE (aka weighted) keyboard would probably set us back $500.

our budget is $200.

i said that i would be willing to donate/chip in a considerable amount of money to help get a keyboard. another person said that he had a $100 gift card (that he got for his birthday) that he’d put forward to our cause.

our worship leader said that God would provide.
despite what i picked up to be semi-low morale, we reminded ourselves that regardless of the low numbers of worship team members and uncertainty of how we were going to get cars to move equipment, or how we needed this new equipment…..worship isn’t about that. full band or one guitar, worship is not only the music that we make with our instruments or voices, its the music that we make with our lives. and God will be pleased with us if we put our best foot forward, in order to glorify His name.

i come home and i search in google, “weighted electric keyboard” and google corrected me and i found out that i should be searching for a weighted electRONIC keyboard. (this is how lost in the dark i was…)

i click on the first link, a keyboard for $499.99. i see that it’s from the same brand as our old keyboard, and that its received 4 stars. not bad.
what’s better, i see a COUPON on the top of the web page. if you spend more than $499, you get $100 dollars off.

$499 - $100 = $399
we have a $200 budget.
$399 - $200 = $199
i’m willing to chip in at least $100
$199 - $100 = $99

i email the worship coordinators excitedly, telling them about the piano, and the coupon and the money id give, and all of my (wonderful) math, and tell them that all that we’d have to do left is fund raise $100!. i said that if we even asked for $20 from each of our committed members, we would be set! i end by saying that we need to act quickly because the coupon ends on MONDAY

he emails me back saying that he would definitely chip in $50.
less than 30 minutes later, he gchatted me, telling me that he asked 3 other members if they’d be willing to chip in $20 apiece.

$499 keyboard - ($100 coupon + $200 budget) = $199
we needed $200 of worship team donations to get this keyboard.
$100 + $50 + $20 + $20 + $20 = $210

$210.
$210.
$210.
$210.

we only needed $199.

He provides.
God is SO good.

and with that, i bid you a goodnight!
